Phoenix Optical Glass Ltd (POGL) manufactures machined and moulded blanks for optical components such as lenses, prisms, mirrors and filters including spherical and cylindrical parts. Reinforcing the Glass Store 24 initiative we specialize in processing challenging shapes and materials, low to high volume, with the quick turn-around time demanded by the custom optics market.
With a combined experience of over 75 years in the pressings field the full range of glass types are processed, supported by in-house tool production and an existing stock of over 6,000 mould tools.
Part sizes range from 20mm to 230mm diameter for conventional moulding techniques with larger diameter parts produced using bending and sagging processes.
2,500 parts-per-day capacity with full engineering and metrology support including interferometric index homogeneity characterisation, coordinate measuring equipment precision annealing and expert handling and processing of thermally and mechanically sensitive glass materials.
